WORCESTERSHIRE’s OGL Computer Services Group is to expand its Stourport-on-Severn site and recruit up to 30 staff over the next two years.

The new facilities, which will nearly double the current square footage, will house additional office, stores and workshop space together with customer training and demonstration suites. OGL, which provides IT solutions and IT support and develop business software for the stockist/distributor market, was founded in Kidderminster in 1976.

Neil Morris, operations director at OGL, said: “With more than 50 per cent of our 200 staff residing in Wyre Forest it makes sense to expand our operation here rather than move out of the area.

“Much of our growth has been in hosted services, also known as cloud computing, and our new offerings of offsite data storage and business continuity have been highly successful.

“Over the next two years we expect to recruit up to 30 new staff in a variety of areas, including research and development, helpdesk support, sales and management. This is an exciting time for OGL with major investment in data centre infrastructure together with extensive development of our software, particularly in the areas of mobile computing and ecommerce.”

Wyre Forest MP Mark Garnier said: “This announcement from OGL is incredibly good news. OGL is a company that I know well and it is a beacon of new technology industries in our district.

“The fact that it is not just expanding, but expanding in Wyre Forest is a testament to the management’s excellent track record, confidence in its future and its commitment to our local community. I look forward to working with them to help in any way that I can to deliver their aspirations and new jobs.”
