A WOMAN has offered a £5,000 reward for the safe return of a box of family treasures taken from her porch in Cleeve Prior, near Evesham.

Angela Hurd, of Mill Lane, mistakenly left the box filled with mementos from her childhood and her parents’ lives in her porch believing it to be filled with old clothes and curtains.

The box was left with other goods intended to be collected by a charity and taken on Tuesday, May 29.

The following week Mrs Hurd discovered her mistake when she went looking for the box filled with items of great sentimental value and is now desperately hoping for its safe return.

She said: “My mother died two years ago and my father is now moving to Bidford from Birmingham.

"I have been clearing the house and had boxes filled with old stuff to go to charity and everything I wanted to keep was in the missing box.

“Every photo of me from my childhood onwards was in there, my mother’s jewellery, photos of my mum when she was young and letters from my grandfather to my grandmother during the First World War.

"Everything I wanted to keep from their house was in the box.

"It is not worth anything to anyone else. I am offering the reward for the return of the box or some of the precious items inside.

"I am desperate to get it back.”

If anyone has any information about the whereabouts of the box, they are asked to e-mail paul.turner9@virgin.net
