ORGANISERS in Evesham are eagerly anticipating the start of the town’s first comedy festival next week, featuring TV comedian Jon Richardson on the last date of his national tour.

A dozen comedians from across the UK will be performing at Evesham Arts Centre over three nights, between Thursday and Saturday, June 28 and 30.

Thursday night sees half-a-dozen newer comedians take to the stage, overseen by experienced MC Richard Sandling.

They are Dominic Elliott-Spencer, Billy Hill, Adam Henderson, Freddie Farrell, Ben Hutchinson & Frankie Peoples.

Thursday tickets cost £5 on the door, £4 in advance. Concessions available.

BBC Radio 1 DJ and stand up comedian Tom Deacon is Friday’s headline act and will be supported by Matt Richardson and Chris Norton-Walker, who is already an arts centre favourite.

The night will be overseen by MC Dan Wright, aka TV’s Little Cook.

Tickets cost £10 on the door, £9 advance. Concessions available.

TV comedian Jon Richardson will play the last date of his 2012 UK tour Funny Magnet in Evesham on Saturday.

Well known for his performance on Channel 4’s 8 out of 10 cats, Richardson will be revelling in his trademark compulsions and pedantry.

Tickets for Saturday night are now sold out.

Tickets for Thursday and Friday are available from Evesham Almonry on 01386 446944 or online at EveshamArtsCentre.co.uk.
