AN HISTORIC hotel will provide the backdrop for a Worcestershire based theatre company’s unique adaptation of one of Shakespeare’s best-known plays.

The Little English Theatre are staging an open-air production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream in the grounds of the Best Western Salford Hall, near Evesham.

While staying true to the traditional presentation of this enchanting tale, the theatre company will bring its own unique charm and flavour to Shakespeare’s most accessible and perhaps best-loved play.

Director Stephan Bessant said: “Our productions are designed to bring a new brand of warmth, intimacy and spontaneity to outdoor theatre, transcending the boundaries between audience and performers.”

In A Midsummer Night’s Dream, enemies fall in love, an actor becomes an ass and the fairy kingdom battles over a servant boy, all because of a mischievous fairy called Puck.

There will be plenty of audience interaction and a little live music adds the finishing touches to a magical evening of theatre under the stars.

A hog roast will be available and audiences are welcome to bring a picnic.

This is a unique experience for all the family where the natural environment becomes the stage.

Tickets cost £15 for adults and £10 for children aged six to 16.
