A CITY convenience store and petrol station has shut for a week for an overhaul.

The Tesco Express in London Road, Worcester, closed its doors over the weekend for a planned “re-model and refurbishment” of the layout in-store, said a spokesman for the firm.

The changes mean the store will be closed until 8am on Tuesday, July 3.

A Tesco spokesman said: “The fresh food, bakeries and groceries range will be improved and we are installing a new till point to cope with busy peak-time demand, so customers will benefit.”

The closure means drivers will have to go elsewhere for fuel, as the petrol and diesel pumps will be shut until reopening.
