PUPILS past and present joined forces to celebrate the tercentenary of a Worcestershire school.

A day of celebrations took place on Saturday at Hallow CE School to mark its 300th anniversary. About 130 former pupils arrived from all over the country to celebrate, the oldest person being 92-years-old.

Current pupils dressed up in Victorian dress for lessons in a traditional Victorian classroom.

Descendents of former head teachers also arrived.

In the hall there was a display of between 200 and 300 photographs and documents dating back to 1897, including pictures of the school.

A service was held by the Bishop of Worcester, the Rt Rev John Inge. In the evening, the former pupils were treated to a picnic in the playing fields.

Joy Fulcher, of the Hallow Village Community Group, said: β€œIt was a brilliant day.”
