THE man who beat Noel Gallagher to become the frontman of Inspiral Carpets comes to Worcester later this month.
Tom Hingley achieved that feat when he joined the band in 1989 and brings his solo show to the Marr’s Bar, in Pierpont Street, on Friday, July 20.
He is linked with some of the group’s biggest releases such as Life, The Beast Inside and Revenge of the Goldfish but the ex-frontman has gone on to release four albums of his own material and his acoustic performance will provide a mix of tracks from his varied career.
The night will be compered by voice-over artist, comedian and occasional jazz musician Tom Clarke-Hill, who is perhaps better known as the UK’s voice for Tony the Tiger.
Smiley Mic will open the night’s music by putting together loops, beats, lyrics and samples.
Tickets are £7 on the door.
