THE Colwall Family Music Festival returns for its second year this weekend.

Colwall Cricket Club is usually home to the sound of leather thwacking on willow but on Sunday, July 15 its Ghost Meadow base will be filled with the tunes of more than 20 bands and artists in a day of entertainment and relaxation.

The site is open from 11am until 11pm with live music across two stages between noon and 10pm.

The Ghost Meadow Stage will mainly feature full bands such as the eastern European-influenced Flatworld, lively Worcester rockers This Wicked Tongue and headliners Dr Stanley’s Medicine Show.

Acoustic acts can be found over at the Pavilion End, with acapella group Four Tart Harmony, blues-rock collective Stompin’ On Spiders and the classic playing and harmonies of Wooden Horse all forming part of the bill before Malvern’s Babajack bring the final curtain down with their unique sound.

Other attractions include a number of stalls, a bar and a sculpture garden from Martin Thorne, who appeared on stage last year playing the blues.

Tickets are £6 and under-12s can enter for free.
