REHEARSALS for the Norbury Players’s annual Shakespeare production, A Midsummer Night's Dream, are well underway.

Director Martin Davis has adapted the play to make it easier to follow and more accessible for the public and hopes this will spark a love of Shakespeare for younger members of the audience.

As the artisans of Athens are rehearsing a play to be presented to Theseus, duke of Athens, on his marriage to Hippolyta, queen of the Amazons, all is not well in the fairy world.

As Oberon, king of the fairies, and Puck, his mischievous jester, seek revenge on Oberon's wife, Titania, their mischief spills into the real world, causing chaos and misunderstanding in both worlds.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be at the Norbury Theatre, Droitwich, on Thursday and Friday, July 12 and 13 at 7.30pm. For tickets call 01905 770154.

It will also be performed at The Old Cock Inn gardens on Saturday, July 14 at 7.30pm.
