SIR – While out socialising on Saturday June 30, I was overwhelmed by the friendly people and forgotten school pals who I came across, congratulating me on my fund-raising for children’s charities.
This became a proud and emotional day and I only wished I could have done more. Now retired and disabled I would like to pass on a vital message to the younger generation who commit unnecessary crime and conflict: stop and think for one minute. Silly activities such as these are not only pointless but blacken one’s character.
