A MAN was left with bruising and a cut to the back of his head after an unprovoked assault in a Worcester city centre nightclub.

The incident took place at about 2am in Velvet Lounge, Angel Place, when two men punched the victim, who is in his 30s, several times while he was trying to get his belongings from a seating booth on the lower ground floor.

Police are now keen to speak to the men pictured in the CCTV image as part of their investigations.

PC Nick Gibson, from Worcester police station, said: “This was a completely unprovoked assault in which the victim was subjected to a prolonged and violent attack.

“We are keen to speak to the men in this picture as they were in the area at the time of the assault and may be able to provide us with vital information which would help us with our investigation.

“I would urge anyone who knows who these men might be to contact us. Alternatively, if you recognise yourself as one of the people in these images, please call us as soon as possible so we can eliminate you from our inquiries if necessary.”

The first offender is de-scribed as white, in his mid-20s, 5ft 10ins to 6ft tall, with short brown hair and was wearing a white T-shirt with a logo including a Union flag.

He also had a full ‘sleeve’ tattoo on his right arm.

The second man was also white and in his mid-20s, with light hair parted on the left and was wearing a white T-shirt and dark zip-up hooded jumper.
