A FINANCIAL adviser spent two nights at base camp on Mount Everest as part of a fund-raising expedition for a disability charity.
Barnaby Bamford, aged 31, of Malvern, took part in the challenge as part of a team from wealth management company St James’ Place.
They have raised more than £600,000 for St James’s Foundation, the company’s charitable arm, which provides support for people with disabilities. The team was part of an expedition led by leading climber Kenton Cool.
During the journey, they ascended to the base camp at 5,364 metres. The trek took several days and they spent two days at base camp before heading back.
Mr Bamford said the views were breathtaking, but sleeping there was not easy because of the thin air, the cold and the creaking of the glacier the camp is on.
