A WORCESTER school’s project to revamp its front gardens is really starting to take shape.
Pupils at St George’s Primary in Barbourne have been working with school gardener Zorah Cholmondeley since the turn of the year to spruce up the area.
A major part of the revamp was the planting of a new tree to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Worcester’s deputy mayor Pat Agar joined members of the school council to plant the tree, which is growing well despite the lack of sunshine this summer.
Miranda Giddings, the school’s administration assistant, said the garden scheme came about after a new footpath was put in last year.
“We thought it would be nice to tidy up the front of the school.
"Everyone has been working hard and you can see a real difference. It looks lovely,” she said.
