AS an example of police public relations it was priceless – Sergeant Pete Aldis enjoying a knees-up in Angel Place with youngsters from a Worcester musical theatre group.
Sgt Aldis, of West Mercia Police’s Worcester city centre team, was on duty as members of Worcester Operatic and Dramatic Youth Section performed excerpts from the musical Me and My Girl, which they are staging at the Swan theatre later this month.
An invitation to join in the Lambeth Walk was readily accepted by the officer, who showed himself to be light on his feet, much to the enjoyment of shoppers.
Me and My Girl opens at the Swan on Tuesday, July 31, and runs each evening until Saturday, August 4. Tickets can be bought at the WorcesterLive box office at Huntingdon Hall in the CrownGate shopping centre, on 01905 611427.
