ICONIC town buildings which have been on the market for nearly three years have been sold.
The landmark Chateau Impney Hotel and The Raven Hotel at Droitwich have been sold for an undisclosed sum according to receivers BDO LLP.
Both were sold to Birmingham-based Greyfort Properties Ltd on Wednesday, July 4.
The chateau’s current management, originally brought in by the receivers, has been re-employed along with the existing staff to run the premises.
There are no immediate plans to reopen The Raven Hotel, in St Andrew’s Street according to the new owners.
The sale, with the business marketed as a going concern, has long been anticipated after the receivers were appointed in November 2009.
Kim Rayment, BDO business restructuring partner, said: "I am delighted 44 jobs at the Chateau Impney have been saved with the transfer of staff, and the business can now move forward.
“The sale of The Impney Group Hotels has ensured the chateau continues to trade as a hotel and will remain an important local landmark in Droitwich.
“Furthermore, the sale of The Raven Hotel allows this important local site to be developed.”
Your Worcester News approached the new owners for a statement, with a spokesman saying it was “early days” without wishing to comment further at this stage.
