A POLITICAL movement aimed at young people held a demonstration outside Worcester Crown Court yesterday demanding tougher prison sentences.
The British Youth Movement received about 100 signatures on a petition calling for life to mean life.
Politics graduate George Wilesmith, of Worcester, who set up the movement, said: “If someone is going to released from prison after two years, sentence them to two years, not five.”
Mr Wilesmith said the movement is also very patriotic, but he stressed they are not racist.
He said: “We want to get young people involved in politics and hopefully to give them some faith in politics. We are very patriotic. We feel that if you don’t love your country, you don’t want to try and improve it and make it better. “
We love our country and want to make it better.”
