WILDLIFE lovers can find out about crickets and grasshoppers at a half-day course run by Worcestershire Wildlife Trust.
The course – which offers indoor and outdoor sessions – is between 10am to 1pm on Saturday, July 28 at the trust’s Lower Smite Farm headquarters. Suzi Richer, communication’s assistant, said: “We run a series of courses throughout the year for anyone who is interested in discovering more about the wonders of Worcestershire’s wildlife.
“The course is being led by lifetime naturalist and long-standing member of the trust’s governing council, Harry Green. He will be looking in more depth at this fascinating family of creatures that sing to each other but are often hidden from sight in the undergrowth.”
The talk will cover how continental and south coast species, such as long-winged coneheads and Roesel’s bush crickets, are now found in Worcestershire. People will find out how to tell the difference between a grasshopper and a cricket during the event, which costs £15.
