A GROUP of daredevils will plunge from the skies in a fund-raising leap of faith for a Worcester-based leukaemia charity where they all work.
The Leukaemia CARE skydiving day will take place on August 18 as the fund-raisers test their mettle 10,000 feet over Shropshire to raise cash for the charity which is based in Blackpole, Worcester.
Organisers hope that the day will raise around £2,000 for the charity which exists to provide vital care and support for all those whose lives have been affected by blood or lymphatic cancer. The charity’s work extends to the welfare of families and carers, as well as that of patients themselves.
Finance assistant Greg Martin, fund-raising team leader Helen Whatmore and her daughter Libby Blunt will all be taking the giant leap out of a plane at Whitchurch, along with Leukaemia CARE chief executive Peter Mondon’s wife Judy and daughter Rebekah.
The charity hopes to take part in other skydives in future. For more information, contact the charity on 01905 755977 or visit leukaemiacare.org.uk.
