A TEENAGER has appeared in court as police continue to hunt for another man in connection with an incident involving armed police in Malvern.

Adam Murray, aged 18, of Bray Avenue, Ledbury, appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court charged with possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, assault and criminal damage.

The charges relate to an incident last Friday, August 3, when armed police stormed a flat in Elgar Avenue after reports that a man was seen with a gun in Gloucester Close.

Murray was arrested in Wells Road, Malvern, at about 5pm on Wednesday and appeared in court yesterday. He did not enter pleas and was remanded in custody to appear at Worcester Crown Court on Monday, November 12.

Police are continuing to hunt a second man believed to be connected to the incident, it was revealed yesterday.

Last week, eyewitnesses living in Elgar Avenue told your Worcester News that police wearing helmets and body armour and armed with submachine guns surrounded an address in their road.

About a dozen police vehicles and 24 armed officers, backed by dog units, closed off the street at about 1pm last Friday.
