A COUPLE of community-spirited young ladies are running a jumble sale from their front yards raising money for charity.

Neighbours Grace Tivnan, aged nine, who goes to Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Primary School and Caitlin Stone, aged 10, who goes to Pitmaston Primary School, have today set up their stalls at their homes at numbers 44 and 42 Malvern Road, Worcester.

Both are selling all manner of household items, books, videos, DVDs and the like to raise a few pound for the Cats Protection (formerly Cats Protection League) and little-lnown charity which helps orphans in India called Reaching The Unreached of Village India.

And with the sun shining down, browsers can also pick up a cup of squash for 20p.

The sale is running all through today.

Grace’s mother Zarena Scott, said she was proud of both the girls for having the gumption to do something for a good cause during a summer holiday weekend.

"They have raided both the houses for things to sell," she said.

"And we have left them to it, they have arranged everything themselves.

"Our job is to keep the drinks cool."
