THE mother of a man left with brain injuries following an attack in Worcester has created a calendar to raise cash for the charity that she says gave them both their life back.

Pauline Morgan said after her son, Martin Hinton, was beaten up in 2005 he needed support for his injuries and Headway were there to help.

The attack also had an effect on Mrs Morgan, who was left with depression and started putting on weight – soon reaching 18 stone.

After joining a slimming group and losing weight the 47-year-old wanted to give something back to Headway so she persuaded her fellow slimmers to get naked and pose for the fund-raising calendar.

“The calendar was my idea,” said Mrs Morgan.

“I wanted to give something back to Headway because after my son was attacked someone put me in touch with them and I had never heard of them, I want people to know they exist.

“They supported me and Martin and they gave us our life back.”

All the photos were taken at the Whitehouse Hotel in Worcester city centre by local photographer Paul Beard.

They feature the slimmers posing nude both inside the hotel rooms and outside, but always covering their assets.

Mrs Morgan said: “There are 19 of us and we have lost more than 50 stone between us. The calendar is naughty but tasteful.

“I thought I would struggle getting people to take part but they have been so supportive.

“It has been hard but I wouldn’t change it.”

She is now hoping the money raised from the calendar will go some way towards the £28,000 needed to buy a new minibus for the charity.

The calendar will be officially launched at an event on Friday, August 31, starting at 7pm at the Coppertops in Oldbury Road, St John’s, Worcester, where there will also be an auction for a mountain bike.
