WORCESTERSHIRE Friends of the Earth campaigners created quite a buzz at an eco day in Worcester.

Dozens of adults and schoolchildren signed cards to Prime Minister David Cameron as part of a campaign to halt the decline of Britain’s bees.

The group had a ‘Bee Cause’ stall at the Fairfield Centre’s eco day in Warndon and campaigner Ronnie Lee, aged 61, spent the day in a bee outfit to promote the cause.

He said: “We want David Cameron to bring in a Government plan to save British bees and we’re hoping all the cards people have signed will help sting him into action.” The Friends of the Earth campaign was just one of several stalls and events at the eco day, which also included composting, painting, health training, making bird feeders and a bouncy castle for children.
