TWO fun days at Tesco in Mill Wood Drive, Warndon Villages, Worcester, raised more than £500 for Cancer Research UK.

The fun days took place on Friday and Saturday, August 24-25, and a total of £511.83 for the charity, which is the store’s charity of the year.

On Friday, the store held a cake sale with all cakes made and donated by store staff.

On Saturday, staff borrowed some old wooden stocks from the county museum in Hartlebury and a manager or team leader was placed in them for 30-minute periods.

Customers and staff were then invited to throw wet sponges at them and, in some cases, cream pies.

Suzy Roberts, the store’s community champion, said: “The team spirit of everyone in the stocks was amazing and, despite being soaked, they all enjoyed taking part.
