A DEDICATED nurse has said a fond farewell to patients and colleagues after more than three decades at Malvern Health Centre.
Practice nurse Mary Knock spent 32 years working at the health centre, which was formerly based in Malvern Link before moving to new premises in Pickersleigh Road in 2008.
She was given a fitting send-off and a bouquet of flowers as she enjoyed her last day on Thursday.
Mrs Knock said she was sad to be leaving after so long but looking forward to a new phase in her life and having more time to spend with her grandchildren.
“It was very odd to be saying goodbye after all that time. I have loved it,” she said. “The thing I will miss most is the staff and the patients – they have been my life really.”
Other than the surgery move, the biggest change Mrs Knock witnessed in her three decades at the health centre was in the role of the practice nurse.
“It has expanded so much. It’s become what the doctors used to do when I first started,” she said.
Practice manager Clive Fenney said: “Everybody loves her here and we are going to miss her greatly. She is a very nice lady as well as a fabulous practice nurse.
“All our staff and patients wish her well for a fantastic retirement.”
