TWO keen gamers from Worcester have qualified for an international tournament in the biggest strategy-based trading card game.

Aaron Biddle, aged 14, and Joe Fletcher, 27, have been selected to represent the UK as part of a team of five at the Magic: The Gathering Pro Tour in America to compete in a game which has been described as chess with cards and attracts 12 million players worldwide.

The talented pair play and train at Manaleak.com, a hobby games tournament shop in Broad Street in the city centre.

Shop-owner Tu Nguyen said: “We are successfully raising a lot of international talent right here in Worcester and a great example of this is Aaron, who is only 14 and yet competing in an adult mental sport.

“It’s certainly a very positive message that we can be sending out to both children and adults in the UK.”
