A WORCESTERSHIRE woman has spoken of her horror after a car ploughed into the garden wall in front of her house while she was asleep.

Allison Clasen was in bed at her home at Appletree Court, Main Street, Pinvin, near Pershore, on August 25, when a BMW Z3 crashed into a 50-foot section of wall outside the house at about 11.50pm.

Mrs Clasen said she had been left in a shaken state after the incident.

“We were woken up by what sounded like a bomb going off,” she said. “When we got downstairs it was just horrific. The car came straight through the wall. It was very frightening. If the wall hadn’t been there it would have been fatal. We were very lucky and the two boys were extremely lucky.”

The smash completely destroyed the wall while the force shunted it sideways along the property.

Bricks were catapulted into the air breaking windows at the side of the house and causing damage to one of the family cars.

The family only moved into the house two years ago and they have just finished a complete refurbishment, including the building of the wall outside, a couple of months earlier.

“It’s just heartbreaking the damage that’s been done after all the hard work that’s been put in over the last two years,” Mrs Clasen said.

“We built the wall for security really. We’re constantly bothered by people in cars racing down the road. It’s a very fast road. I’ve not been settled here since it happened.”

Two men in the car were taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital but have since been discharged.

l The driver was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and an investigation is ongoing.
