THE Watermill Theatre in Newbury is bringing the “unforgettable” musical experience of Radio Times to Malvern Theatres next week.

Radio Times is a funny and fast moving musical, with the cast of actor musicians playing more than 15 instruments live on stage while singing and dancing.

The show features many well-known songs by Noel Gay (Me and My Girl) including Run Rabbit Run, Hey Little Hen and Whose Been Polishing the Sun in new arrangements by Paul Herbert.

Radio Times follows the trials of the Variety Bandwagon cast who are about to broadcast live on radio to America for the first time.

The clock ticks away, the line-up is shrinking and there is no sign of Sammy the star of the show. With seconds to spare he arrives with Gary, a Hollywood movie idol, in tow.

The broadcast seems assured but Sammy’s girlfriend seems to know Gary of old and starts to question her commitment.

The cast includes Gary Wilmot whose previous work includes West End appearances in Chicago and Me And My Girl and Sara Crowe who starred in the popular British film, Four Weddings and a Funeral, and appeared on stage in Private Lives in London’s West End.

Radio Times wowed audiences last year at The Watermill Theatre in Newbury, receiving a clutch of four star reviews from national critics.

The show runs at Malvern Theatres from Tuesday to Saturday, September 11 to 15 with tickets from £14, under 26s £8.
