Hunt begins to find women of the year
3:00pm Sunday 9th September 2012 in News By Catherine Phillips, Reporter
The 2012 Business champion, Nicola Matthews.
THE search is on to find women in the county who have made a significant contribution in their personal or professional lives.
People will have the chance to enjoy a two-course lunch during the launch of the Worcestershire Women of the Year event at Sixways on Wednesday, September 26.
Nominations are sought for women who live and work in Worcestershire and have made significant contributions in the business or voluntary categories. There is also an achievement award which will be given to a woman who has done something inspirational, or is best at what she does.
The lunch is being hosted by St Richard’s Hospice and the Wednesday Club, a networking forum for businesswomen in Worcestershire.
Wednesday Club manager, Andrea Palmer, said: “We have some very special women in Worcestershire who work extremely hard in the workforce or in their communities.
“It’s these ladies we want to reward and thank for doing incredible things.” The winners will be honoured at a prestigious award ceremony featuring a celebrity speaker in September next year at Fews Marquees in Hanbury.
As well as the lunch there will be an inspirational talk from guest speaker Miranda Ballard from Muddy Boots.
Tickets cost £25 per person with any profits donated to St Richard’s Hospice.
To book, call Tricia Cavell on 01905 763963 or e-mail tcavell@strichards.org.uk.
