A MAN arrested after a rooftop stand-off with police in the city centre remains in police custody.

The man who is from Worcester and believed to be in his 20s came down voluntarily at about 5.30pm yesterday after spending nearly six hours on residential roofs, 35ft above the ground.

He was arrested on suspicion of rape, after police were called to "a domestic incident" at an address in Friar Street, at about noon.

West Mercia Police said the man was still being questioned by detectives today.
