A RIVERSIDE cafe and wine bar is set to re-open in Worcester this week.

The Quay on the Waterfront next to the water fountains at South Quay re-opens at 5pm on Friday, with new owners.

The bar is now owned by Darren and Craig Pinches, the owners of the Bushwackers nightclub, who hope to roll-out the business to other cities.

They have brought in David Cumbes from Birmingham to manage the venture, with a menu put together by consultant chef Martin Lovell.

Mr Cumbes said the Quay would cater for families during the day, serving breakfast and morning coffee, a lunch menu, and then in the evenings fresh fish, and meat joints along with wines, fine champagne, and cocktails.

Mr Lovell said: “I will be here to get things set up, and then we will look to roll this out to other venues in Birmingham, Cheltenham and elsewhere.”
