A MAN involved in a rooftop incident earlier this week has been charged with rape.

The man, in his 20s and from Worcester, is due to appear at Worcester Magistrates Court later today.

At 12.08pm on Monday officers attended an address in Friar Street following a report of a domestic-related serious sexual assault.

Following the police's arrival at the property, a man climbed onto the roofs of buildings in Friar Street but eventually came down voluntarily at 5.30pm.

He was arrested by officers at the scene and was charged yesterday night with the rape of a woman 16 years of age or over.
