YOUNGSTERS from Worcester saw the impact of the Paralympic Games with their own eyes after attending the final athletics event.

Seven teenagers with special needs, learning difficulties or disabilities were treated to a day out to remember at London’s Olympic Park.

They are all members of FLASH – a youth club based at Perdiswell Young People’s Leisure Club which meets once a week. The club held a ballot and picked names out of the hat for the group of lucky winners.

Scott Howland, development manager at Perdiswell Leisure Centre, said: “It was a chance for all of them to attend a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and the experience they gained from it was incredible.”
