Guildhall evacuated after false alarm Guildhall evacuated after false alarm

WORCESTER's Guildhall and HMV in the High Street have both been temporarily evacuated following a fire alarm.

A spokeswoman for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said they were called to the Guildhall at 11.09am following an automatic fire alarm.

She said the alarm may have been linked to a test of fire alarms which took place at the Guildhall earlier this morning between 9.15am and 10am.

One fire engine was sent to the scene and while crews carried out checks, there is no sign of a fire.

Would have been if it were a real fire. We were at a Coffee morning May 18th when there were 2 false alarms.
At that time there were painters working there who insisted that it was nothing to do with them, so perhaps, they have a fault there, but all calls must be answered since one day it could be for real. the it would be outstanding news.
