VICTORY PARADE MEETING: Sarah Hollier with London Mayor Boris Johnson.
OFFICERS and staff from West Mercia Police met the stars of the Olympic and Paralympic Games when they attended the victory parade in London.
Sarah Hollier, from the force’s planning office at Hindlip, near Worcester, as well as Inspector Adrian Maiden and PCs Pete Sadler and Andy Forbes were selected at random to attend the parade and met Olympic medallists and Paralympic athletes.
They were among 14,000 ticket-holders chosen to attend the event near the Queen Victoria Memorial which was cordoned off for those who had made a major contribution to the games.
Ms Hollier provided support to the Olympic planning team and the deployed officers. “It meant so much to travel down and witness the victory parade and meet some of the athletes, as well as London Mayor Boris Johnson,” said Ms Hollier.
“The atmosphere was incredible and there was a great sense of camaraderie between the forces which helped make the day even more special.”
