Scare-Mo flies the flag

HONOURED: Mo Farah as a scarecrow HONOURED: Mo Farah as a scarecrow

A CHURCH fund-raiser had a rather regal air to it.

People living in Offenham, near Evesham, raised more than £700 for the village church through a fun day which saw famous faces from the highly successful Olympic summer depicted in scarecrow form.

Double gold medal-winning Great Britain and Northern Ireland runner Mo Farah adorned with a Union Flag, was a sight to behold, created by Angela Gash, but it was the Royal family which took the honours.

Ron Jury’s scarecrow Queen Elizabeth II won the first prize, with the Olympian and Queen’s grand-daughter Zara Phillips on horseback, cantering in for the silver medal.
