Travellers leave a right old mess

TIP: A court order has been issued to get rid of the travellers TIP: A court order has been issued to get rid of the travellers

THIS is the mess left at the edge of a field illegally occupied by a group of travellers.

The travellers have been there for just under two weeks, but a court order was made yesterday ordering the five families and 10 caravans to move off the land at Kerswell Green, near Worcester, which is owned by Kempsey Parish Council.

The parish council was planning to serve the order today, 13 days after the group first arrived.

They were forced to take action after the travellers told parish council chairman Bob Bowley they would only go when they legally had to.

Speaking after the order was granted, vice-chairman John Michael said: “We are pleased the order was granted. They are on there illegally and it is a piece of common land owned by the parish council.

“They are squatting there, if you like. We have gone through the legal process.”
