Water problem solved
A WATER problem that affected a number of homes in Dines Green has been resolved.
Twenty-six properties in Drake Avenue left without water on Friday, September 28 after Severn Trent Water had to shut off the supply to carry out repair work on a burst water pipe.
Homes in surrounding streets were also affected when tap water was left discoloured by the disruption to the supply.
Steve Knight, of Penhill Crescent, which backs onto Drake Avenue, contacted Severn Trent after he noticed the tap water at his home had turned a greeny-brown colour and smelled of sewerage.
The 23-year-old said the problem was solved by early evening the same day.
“It’s all fine and sorted now thankfully but it did cause a little panic initially.
"We didn’t use it properly until the next day to play it safe.”
