COCK ROBIN BY ROBIN: The winning photograph of our much-loved garden bird.
THIS picture of a singing robin is the winner of a photographic competition held by Malvern’s Community Action.
The competition was open to anyone in Worcestershire, and the winner was Robin Hampton of Worcester, who snapped the bird in his garden in Worcester.
Although Mr Hampton was the overall winner, he is joined by 11 other winners whose names are now available on Community Action’s website at communityaction.org.uk.
The judges had a tough decision as the photographs were of a very high standard. One judge, professional photographer Adam Hoskins from AH Light said the picture was chosen because it was the clearest, best-composed photograph submitted.
Mr Hampton will now enjoy some professional tips from Mr Hoskins as his prize, as well as seeing his picture in print.
The 12 photographs will now be made into a calendar whose proceeds will go to the charity. The calendars will go on sale at the end of October from Just So in Barnard’s Green, the coffee shop at Prospect View health centre, Pickersleigh Road, on Thursday and Friday mornings, as well as at Community Action’s Charity Fair on November 17 at Malvern St James.
If you would like to buy a calendar, or volunteer for Community Action, please phone 01684 892381.
