POP ICONS: ABBA Reunion will be playing for one night only.
A WORCESTER woman will show she’s a Super Trouper when she returns to the city with a new stage show.
Vikki Holland-Bowyer, who is originally from Blackpole, has made a name for herself as the co-producer, director and choreographer of the West End hit ABBA Mania in which she also starred as Frida Lyngstad.
Now Ms Holland-Bowyer is set to return home with ABBA Reunion, which she created with her fiance Greg Stevenson, for one night only at the Perdiswell Sports and Lei-sure Centre, Bilford Road, tomorrow from 7.30pm.
Ms Holland-Bowyer’s affinity with the Swedish pop icons dates back to her childhood and has seen her win awards and sing before crowds of 30,000.
“I got into the ABBA tribute industry in 1998 and I abbasolutley love it – pardon the pun.
“From a young age me and my sister Wendy used to pretend to be ABBA complete with hairbrush as microphone.
“I remember seeing ABBA the Movie at the pictures – it was amazing. Performing as ABBA as a job is heaven.”
The show itself will offer fans old and new the opportunity to get together and enjoy the ABBA phenomena which swept the airwaves and discos during the 70s and 80s in a party-style concert.
From Waterloo to Dancing Queen, all of the hits are performed with audio and visual authenticity with the performers transformed into the famous four of Agnetha, Benny, Bjorn and Frida, complete with handmade replica costumes.
Video clips of each member have been studied to mimic various movements and mannerisms to bring the band back to life.
Tickets are £13 in advance or £15 on the door.
