Brave Tina inspired by Paralympics to fund-raise

BRAVE: Musician Tina Bridgman is raising cash for charity.
A WOMAN who lost her hand in an accident is swimming the distance of the English Channel for charity after being inspired by the Paralympic Games.
Musician Tina Bridgman will be taking to the water in pools in Worcester and Droitwich to swim 22 miles to raise money for Aspire – one of the UK’s leading spinal injury charities.
The 46-year-old, of Witton, near Droitwich, lost her left hand in an accident eight years ago and hopes to inspire people by taking part in the challenge.
“When I lost my hand, one of the things I thought I wouldn’t be able to do again was to swim,” she said.
“Every time I get in to the pool, I feel so grateful that I still can, I love it so much.”
More than 3,000 swimmers across the country are taking part in the Aspire Channel Swim.
Over a 12-week period, each swimmer will cover more than 22 miles to raise valuable funds for Aspire.
