ENVIRONMENTAL group Transition Worcester offered people the chance to turn their surplus apples and pears into a tasty treat.

People arrived at the group’s latest apple pressing day, in Worcester’s Cripplegate Park on Saturday, carrying armfuls of fruit and left clutching bottles and containers full of freshly squeezed juice.

Volunteer Transition Worcester orchard workers were also on hand to offer lots of advice and information about managing trees for fruits and wildlife.

The group’s next apple pressing day is at Worcester’s Laugherne Brook Nature Reserve, between 11am and 3pm on Saturday, October 27, while another will take place at either Fort Royal Park or Commandery Gardens on Saturday, November 3.
