A second bail application by a Worcester woman arrested as part of the Andrew Heath murder investigation has been adjourned.

Sarah Martin, aged 26, of Rodborough Drive, Warndon, is accused of perverting the course of justice.

Judge Patrick Thomas QC adjourned the application of Martin and that of her partner Matthew Davies, 28 - of the same address and charged with a similar offence - to a date which is yet to be fixed.

The judge has asked defence lawyers to provide him with more information. Neither defendant had been brought to court.

Martin's first application last week was also adjourned for the prosecution to provide the judge with a case summary.

The judge asked the Press to leave before today's hearing but allowed the defendants' families to remain in the public gallery of Worcester Crown Court.

He said there were no problems with past reporting of court hearings but he "had to take precautions".

Martin's brother Daniel Martin, 23, of Canterbury Road, Ronkswood, is charged with the murder of Andrew Heath, 52, who died in a suspected arson attack at his flat in Chedworth Close, Warndon, on December 24 last year.

His mother Teresa Martin, 44, of Rodborough Close, Warndon, is also in custody charged with perverting the course of justice.

The trial of the four defendants is due to be heard in May or June next year.
