VALE residents are searching for answers after an 'explosion' was heard last night.

The mysterious occurrence happened yesterday evening in Offenham.

There was a loud bang, like an explosion, which shook a house followed by a bright flash or a flame.

The flash is thought to be in the direction of Laurels Road but there was no evidence of a fire afterwards.

Police and the fire service have not received any calls about the disturbance.

Can't have been, there was no 'whoosh' reported.

And since when did sound travel faster than light. 'Bang then a flash'?

there was definately no explosion, i live on laurels road. there was a massive bonfire by the railway line so that could of been the light!
