A WORCESTER charitable organisation working with children with disabilities has benefited from a generous donation.

New Hope, which was established by Jean Wilson after she struggled to find daytime respite care for her daughter Emily, has been presented with a cheque for £200 from the Worcestershire-Filipino International Community.

The community raised the funds at its Barrio Festival where members came together to keep their traditions alive while so far away from home.

Youngsters play music and sing their national songs together under the leadership of the Young Generation Group president Gennifer Wagayen.

The charity, which is based in Wells Road, Ronkswood, also provides support for parents and carers.
