Bob has lived in Worcestershire most of his life, attending Prince Henry's High School in Evesham. He left the county to study philosophy at the University of Warwick and Queens University, Canada, then moved to Worcester in 2003.
Bob has been a very active member of the Swan Theatre Amateur Company, appearing in four main stage productions, two children's theatre shows and one studio performance in the space of just three years between 2006-2008. Roles included Wayne in Ben Elton's Popcorn, "Charley's Aunt" in Charley's Aunt, and most recently the male characters in David Hare's The Blue Room. He continues to run the group's website.
He worked locally in communications for a social housing organisation, before moving to an industrial technology company where he worked first in marketing and later as an Information Systems Developer.
However, from 2008, Bob has worked for the British Humanist Association, which promotes the ethical, naturalistic lifestance of Humanism. Bob travels to the London office on Monday mornings, coming home to Worcester usually on Thursday evenings. The many hats he wears at the BHA encompass membership, communications, website management, occasional spokesperson, and also liaising with local humanist groups across the country, including Worcester.
