THERE'S a new centre in Worcester for sportsmen and women to get back on the good foot. David Lloyd sports and fitness Club at Sixways, is joining forces with Worcestershire Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Clinic to launch a new, integrated physiotherapy and sports rehabilitation service. Based at the club, which is next to Worcester Warriors rugby stadium, the David Lloyd Physiotherapy Service and the OSM will offer a comprehensive approach to everyone who enjoys fitness and sport, whether a professional athlete or a weekend runner.
Paul MacDonald, a specialist musculoskeletal physiotherapist at David Lloyd is leading the clinic and he said: "We can now treat individuals here utilising the best evidence based practice to allow each patient to attain their fitness goals. Patients will have access to leading orthopaedic, chiropractic, podiatry, osteopathy, nutritionists, biomechanics, sports coaching, holistic and sports medicine services all under one roof.”
This integrated multidisciplinary team allows for quicker and more efficient referral routes and allows,rapid access to MRI, X-ray and CT investigations if needed.
