THERE'S a new name on a door at the Worcester-based Medical Accident Group, the national legal practice focussing on the UK clinical negligence and major injury markets. A fast-growing subsidiary of the long-established, full service law firm Harrison Clark Rickerbys, MAG has strengthened its team with the appointment of Ally Taft as senior associate.

Ms Taft has worked as a specialist medical negligence lawyer for 13 years and in 2013 secured settlements totalling more than £11 million. She will now play a key role training the Medical Accident Group’s fee-earners and will be part of a team led by partners Inez Brown and Peter Savage, who between them have more than 30 years of experience in the fields of medical negligence and personal injury.

Ms Taft said: "This is a very exciting time to be joining the Medical Accident Group, which is expanding and is now one of the market-leaders in the area. I am looking forward to working with its talented clinical negligence team, and to imparting some of my knowledge and experience to the younger lawyers.”

Rod Thomas, managing partner at Harrison Clark Rickerbys, added: "Ally’s proven legal skill and passionate advocacy will make her an invaluable member of the Medical Accident Group. She will play a key role, assisting with the management of the clinical negligence department, supervising junior fee-earners and taking the lead with training.”
