NEVER mind the television show, the real action in the baking kitchen will be taking place on the Three Counties showground Malvern on Thursday, September 18.

That's the day of Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce's Business Expo event when businesspeople are being encouraged to dust off their cook books and

bake some tasty cakes.

The Great Chamber Bake Off is part of a series of events celebrating the Chamber winning the British Chambers of Commerce Chamber of the Year 2013 Award. Taking place at the popular Business Expo, one of the biggest business events in Herefordshire and Worcestershire, visitors will be asked to bring their homemade cakes to be judged and sold to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. The judges include Chamber chief executive Mike Ashton, Peter Rowland from Macmillan Cancer Support and Sam Barriscale, managing director of Ma Bakers.

The Expo will also include the biggest business coffee morning in the two counties at 11am, when 250-300 visitors can enjoy free tea and coffee and a slice of the delicious Chamber of the Year Cake, which will be supplied by Worcester-based business Ma Bakers. The coffee morning will raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and offer businesspeople invaluable networking opportunities.

Mr Ashton said: "Our Business Expo is one of the highlights of the year and always attracts hundreds of businesspeople. The Great Chamber Bake Off is a fantastic way to raise money for a worthy cause, and I am particularly looking forward to sampling some delicious cakes."
