BUILDING company Travis Perkins has recently opened a new branch at the Great Western Business Park development in Worcester.

The well known retailer was attracted to the site's location, situated just off Tolladine Way, as it is less than a mile from Worcester city centre and close to the M5.

The firm supplies building materials including building, plumbing and heating supplies, landscaping materials, timber and sheeting, painting and decorating products, dry lining and insulation, doors and joinery materials, as well as hand and power tools, at its retail centres and online.

St Modwen, which specialises in the regeneration of sites, has overseen the development of the park, and has welcomed the firm as it opens on a 13,600 sq ft unit.

The latest phase is now close to completion with another 50,000 sq ft of development at park, St Modwen’s third and final phase.

The next phase will consist of six units ranging from 6,000 to 31,000 sq ft, in response to ongoing demand from businesses seeking new warehouse and light industrial space in the Worcester area.

Other occupiers at the Great Western Business Park include Benchmarx Kitchens and Joinery, Euro Car Parts, Materials Solutions, Nemesis GB and Storage King and Altaras International.

Jonathan Green, senior development surveyor at St Modwen, said: “We’re pleased to announce the opening of Travis Perkins at Great Western Business Park, which offers an ideal location for their business, close to Worcester city centre and the wider motorway network.

“Travis Perkins will be joining its sister company, Benchmarx Kitchens and Joinery, who are existing tenants at the development, while the handover of two units totalling 15,000 sq ft of space for training company Herefordshire and Worcestershire Group Training Association Ltd (HWGTA) has also been completed.”

Darren Godsall, branch manager at Travis Perkins added: “As our second branch in Worcester it made sense to choose a location closer to the heart of the city and Great Western Business Park offered us the great location we were looking for.

"We are excited to be keeping Worcester tradesmen on site and working every day."
