SPECIALIST rail operator the Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd will be a key speaker at an event at Worcester's Sixways Stadium.

The FinditinWorcestershire meet the buyer event is being held on Tuesday, June 20, and is giving SMEs in Worcestershire the opportunity to learn about the Worcestershire Parkway project first-hand from Marc Riley, the regional director.

The event is being held between 6.45am and 9.30am at Sixways Stadiums on Tuesday, June 20.

It will give representatives from small to medium enterprises in Worcestershire the chance to learn about the Worcestershire Parkway project, and also hear from Marc Riley, regional director, who will be discussing supply chain opportunities for local businesses and how they can become a supplier or sub-contractor.

Worcestershire County Council recently appointed The Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd to build the new Worcestershire Parkway Regional Interchange, with a completion date set for winter 2018 to 2019.

The scheme for the station, close to junction seven on the M5, is worth £22m and construction will begin on the project in autumn.

Lorna Jeynes, business growth manager at Worcestershire County Council, said: “The Worcestershire Parkway project has lots of opportunities available for local suppliers.

"Marc’s valuable advice will help SMEs gain knowledge, develop relationships and win valuable tender work.

“The initial response to this event has been outstanding, so we would advise anyone interested in attending to book their place to avoid disappointment.”

The FinditinWorcestershire website aims to bring together contractors and suppliers to provide supply chain opportunities to the local economy.
